About Me

As people, we’re becoming more invested in ourselves; in our minds, in our bodies, and in our futures. Most importantly, focusing on our mental health, choosing healthier options, transforming our bodies, and embracing an abundance of positivity – making our well-being a priority. The Well-Being Bar is about choosing to make the rest of your life the best of your life, providing an unlimited amount of resources to live at an elevated sense of well-being.

Hello World! My name is Tatiyana Benjamin, the face [also body & mind] behind the Well-Being Bar. My passion for wellness has been instilled in me since I was a little girl. My grandmother was and still is the most fit little lady ever! I remember the grapefruit and boiled eggs, the jump rope drills in the park, and the many step workout tapes! But over the last two years I decided to make a change for the betterment of my total self.

My story is one that I’m sure many of you have heard before…. I was so tiny in high school. Fit even, thanks to the dance team, but then I went off to college and got introduced to what started as the freshman fifteen. At the end of my four years, not only did Sallie Mae came calling for $60k, but I was also now nearly 40 pounds heavier!

On a regular day I am 5 feet 1 inch but weighing in at 167 lbs., I found myself obese. I wasn’t unhappy, I was truly living what I called my best life, but I knew I was unhealthy. In an attempt to give myself the best self I deserved, I dabbled in the all the diet fads you can think of- garcinia cambogia, Herbalife, 10 day smoothie cleanse, a plethora of detox teas, waist trainers; you name it! At the time, I was unaware I was on a path to nowhere. Not actually working towards better health but rather wasting time and money with ‘get fit quick’ schemes..

Fast forward to the best day ever, my wedding day, March 2, 2018. I was 163 pounds. A couple days after my honeymoon I had a dream that I got pregnant, had a baby and I was huge FOREVER! Dramatic… I know; but this was the triggering moment my journey to optimal wellness began. I started by transforming my approach to a better lifestyle. My days began with a cup of tea and a positive motivational quote courtesy of @morningteaquotes. I went to the gym consistently (hashtag morningpump), ate semi-healthy, but moved with more purpose, and began to put my needs at the top of my list of  priorities.

Now don’t get it twisted. I’m not saying all it took was a few cups of tea, motivational quotes and daily trips to Planet Fitness. What I’m saying is it all started in my mind, at first as fear and just not for me, but then I used it to channel positive action. Knowing how powerful the mind can be, I then began the practice guided meditation using the Headspace app. This lead to a heightened focus, I felt more mindful and was ready to take in everything amazing for myself.  I began to take part in any workout that got my body moving from home workout challenges, spin classes, and an unlikely favorite, kickboxing! I became disciplined, maybe even obsessive; meanwhile paying close attention to my diet & nutrition, I started to operate at what I call an elevated sense of well-being.

In December 2019 I became a Certified Health & Wellness Coach and launched this beauty, The Well-Being Bar, where I share tools and resources to assist people who are just embarking or those who are well on their way to an elevated sense of well-being.

My goal is to help transform at least 1,000 people into achieving their optimal wellness through my coaching strategies. Get ready to elevate with me!
